Individuals who are members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are eligible to join Sea West. Members of the Navy League of the United States are eligible to join Sea West.

Members of the maritime industries are eligible to join.

Students and staff of the Cal Poly Maritime Academy are eligible to join Sea West.

Veterans who were honorably discharged from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (regardless of length of service) are eligible to join Sea West.
