California residents/workers who can't qualify through other criteria may join the Financial Fitness Association for a one‑time $8 fee to become LBS Financial members.

“If you don't qualify based on employment, education, geography or family, but you live or work in California, you may join LBS Financial by becoming a member of the Financial Fitness Association for an additional one‑time payment of $8.00”

Students and their family members (current students and alumni association members) attending the listed colleges can join the credit union.

Joining requires a $5 deposit in a Share Savings account and a one-time $1 membership fee.
